What a backlink checker does
A backlink checker shows which sites link to a domain, how many different domains those links come from, and a rough authority score. Backlinks work like recommendations: when a trusted site links to you, search engines read it as a sign your page is worth visiting.
Floan’s tool gives you a fast, no-signup snapshot on any phone or desktop, lets you download the result, and sends you to professional crawlers when you need verified numbers. Prefer a team to do it for you? See our digital marketing services or read the Floan blog.
Why backlinks still matter
Google’s SEO Starter Guide explains that links help it discover pages, and studies from Ahrefs and Moz keep finding a link between referring domains and rankings.
Three things to look at
- Quantity: total links pointing at the domain.
- Quality: how trusted and relevant the linking sites are.
- Diversity: the number of unique referring domains. Ten links from ten good sites beat a thousand from one spammy source.
How to use this tool
- Enter a domain with or without https://. Subdomains and full page URLs work too.
- Press Check backlinks (or Enter) to see the snapshot.
- Download or copy the report as TXT, CSV or JSON.
- Open a live tool to confirm the numbers with real crawl data.
- Press Reset to clear the form and start again. Your recent checks stay in your own browser only.
Reading your authority score
| Score | Meaning | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| 0–29 | New or low authority | Earn a few quality links first |
| 30–49 | Moderate | Publish more linkable content |
| 50–69 | Good | Competitive in most niches |
| 70–100 | Excellent | Protect it and monitor for toxic links |

Frequently asked questions
Is this backlink checker free?
Yes. There is no signup, subscription or limit on how many domains you check.
Are the numbers real?
No. This tool produces an estimated snapshot from the domain name for comparison and learning, and labels it that way. For real backlink data, use the live tool buttons in the results, which open Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz and Search Console.
Can I check a competitor?
Yes. Enter any domain. For accurate competitor data, open the live tools from the results panel.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The layout is mobile-first with large tap targets, and works on phones, tablets and desktops.
Is my data stored?
Only your last few domains, saved in your own browser to show as quick chips. Nothing is sent to a server. Reset clears the form, and the Clear link removes the history.
